The Hoxton is getting ready to open its doors in Florence, capital of Italy’s Tuscany region and home to some of the world’s most famous masterpieces of Renaissance art, architecture and monuments. This eye-candy city is packed with culture and is the birthplace of gelato – we did not need any persuading to make it our second home in the country.
The Hoxton in Florence will feature 161 beautiful bedrooms of varying sizes, a large ground floor restaurant, bar, lobby, rooftop and courtyard. There is also a basement meeting and events space.

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.
Job Description
What you’ll do…
Together with our Head Housekeeper, take the lead in ensuring our guests experience spotless and well put together rooms that they want to come back to. Lead and inspire the housekeeping team by example, creating an environment where they can be themselves, feel supported and empowered. Take responsibility in keeping our standards for bedrooms and public areas high, through SOPs, relevant training, and regular checks. Pro-actively identify opportunities to improve and enhance processes and procedures. Display awareness of departmental costs and ensure that all expenses are kept in line with budget guidelines. Control and management of the housekeeping stock, ensuring all orders are monitored. Get actively involved in the team’s development to realise their full potential, so we grow together as a Hoxton family. Work closely with other teams (front office, maintenance, F&B) towards the overall goal of creating a memorable experience in a beautiful space. Play a part in our partnership with our external housekeeping providers.
Qualifications

You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other, and has fun along the way. Previous housekeeping experience at a similar level, or someone who is ready to step into a leadership role. Knowledge of Opera, Knowcross or similar property management systems. An eagle-eye for detail, you can spot a slip in standards from a mile away. Keen to take ownership of and pride in your work, a rollup-your-sleeves attitude to seeing work through and delivering results. A natural at leading and managing others, you lead by example and create an environment where your team can be their best self.
