Job Description:

Mainframe systems are at the heart of the digital economy, with 80% of the world’s structured corporate data residing or originating on mainframes, and 55% of all enterprise applications hitting the mainframe to complete transactions. Our industry-leading products are critical to many Fortune 1000 companies.

Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is looking for an distinguished engineer with a passion for building high quality products which provide significant customer value with a pleasant user experience. 

This role requires an experienced IT technical executive that can work with customers, product management, architecture and engineering to move our workload solutions forward. The candidate must be skilled in working with customers at all levels and savvy enough to work effectively with all parts of the Broadcom mainframe division.

Required skills:

An industry mainframe technical expert skilled with 20+ years of experience:

Engaging with customers both at the executive level and at the technical level

Deep demonstrable application programming skills

Deep demonstrable application performance tuning skills

Ability to code in Assembler, C++, and more

Ability to partner with customers to architect their new solutions

Team player who will share insights with the broader leadership team and mentor / enable more junior team members

Ability to help the team architect solutions to deliver needed customer business value

Ability to partner with product management to assess the current customer base, market trends and create a path forward

Experience with agile processes

Ability to identify and document requirements such that scrum teams can deliver

Desired skills:

Sales experience

Enablement experience 

Skilled and engaging with presentations

Recognized and respected industry expert for application performance optimization for the mainframe
