RWE Renewables, the youngest subsidiary of the RWE Group, is one of the world leaders in renewables. The company, which is subdivided into two functional units “RWE Renewables Europe & Australia” and “RWE Offshore Wind” in addition to RWE Renewables Americas, is driving the expansion of renewables in over 20 countries on five continents.

About the department

The Investment & Valuation department conducts economic evaluations and provides high quality decision support for RWE’s profitable growth in Renewables. This includes the provision of commercial guidance to our business units for investment, divestment, bid and partnering decisions and guiding our investment approval process.

About the role

Based in the Italy/Rome, you will evaluate M&A transactions and development projects, support bid submissions, quality check business cases by questioning plausibility and consistency of input data as well as robustness of results and provide independent and unbiased recommendations to enable smooth and transparent decision making.

Your future plans

Carry out quantitative and qualitative analyses of development and M&A renewable projects that are located within various countries and support in making independent holistic recommendations to the management. Technology focus may include onshore wind, photovoltaic (PV) and battery storageBuild, develop and maintain financial valuation models to assess project economics.Enact a governance role including the business case challenge of valuation relevant assumptions as well as the standardization and enhancement of our investment approval process and papersLead the RWE Renewables’ investment approval process and manage all relevant stakeholdersTake responsibility for Board papers by ensuring accuracy and clarity as well as effective communication to RWE Renewables or RWE AG BoardProvide commercial guidance to our business units for investment, divestment, bid and partnering decisionsSupport financial due diligence processesSupport the evaluation of new strategic initiatives, financial workstreams and other internal ad hoc projects

Your profile

Several years of professional valuation experienceKnowledge of theoretical investment topics, with a focus on valuation methods, in particular DCF modelling within ExcelA degree in business administration, economics, industrial engineering, mathematical economics or similarExperience in the presentation of decision-relevant informationA commercial mindset with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skillsThe ability to bring a critical mindset to projects in a constructive way to enable value creationProven communication and presentation skills with the ability to assure high quality and accuracy under time constraints with an awareness of deadlinesFluency in spoken and written English is essential in our international team and environmentAnd last but not least: a positive attitude and fun in working in a multicultural team, a sense of humor and a enthusiasm for renewable energy
