Finance and Accounting Manager

We design and manufacture **high-fidelity physical surgical simulators** and develop **digital solutions** used by surgeons, hospitals, universities and MedTech companies to train technical skills, improve patient safety and reduce healthcare costs.

**Role overview**

We’re looking for a **Finance & Accounting Manager** to strengthen our financial structure and bring **accuracy, discipline and visibility** across accounting, cash and performance reporting.

This role is ideal for someone who combines **audit-level rigor** with strong day-to-day execution, and who can translate financial data into clear insights for leadership. You will work closely with the CEO and coordinate with external accounting and tax advisors, ensuring financial reliability and compliance as the company grows.

**Responsibilities1) Accounting, reporting & close**

- Own the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate reporting (**P&L, balance sheet, cash**).
- Ensure high-quality reconciliations and accounting accuracy across key areas (AR/AP, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, accruals).
- Supervise and improve day-to-day finance operations, ensuring consistent processes and documentation.
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors to align reporting standards and ensure compliance.

**2) Controlling & performance insights**

- Build practical management reporting focused on the fundamentals: **gross margin, COGS drivers, inventory trends, operating costs**.
- Monitor performance and highlight key trends, anomalies, and actions to the CEO (what is changing, why it matters).
- Partner with Operations to improve consistency between production/inventory data and accounting outcomes.
- Support pricing and deal analysis with margin impact and profitability considerations.

**3) Cashflow & financial discipline**

- Maintain short- and mid-term cash visibility and support cash planning.
- Strengthen working capital routines (collections, payment planning, inventory impact on cash).
- Introduce clear financial cadence and discipline (deadlines, controls, follow-up).

**4) Tax & statutory compliance**

- Oversee compliance with Italian accounting and tax requirements (VAT, withholding taxes, statutory filings, annual statements) with external advisors.
- Act as internal reference point for regulatory and statutory topics, supporting audits or inspections when needed.

**Requirements**

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent.
- 5–10+ years of relevant experience combining:
- audit / external audit / internal audit (strongly valued), and/or
- hands-on accounting & finance execution in a company environment
- Strong accounting knowledge and ability to work hands-on with financial data.
- Solid Excel skills and structured approach to data.
- Ability to synthesize and communicate clearly with non-financial stakeholders.
- High ownership mindset, reliability, and attention to detail.

**Nice to have**

- Experience in manufacturing / inventory-heavy environments (MedTech a plus).
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, D365, Oracle or similar).
- Exposure to investor reporting or financial due diligence.

**What success looks like (first 6–12 months)**

- Monthly close delivered on time with reliable numbers and clean reconciliations.
- Clear visibility on **cash position** and key **margin/COGS drivers**.
- Management reporting in place and used by leadership for decisions.
- Strong coordination with external advisors; compliance handled smoothly.
- Improved operational discipline around billing, collections, inventory and approvals.
