For our Adhesives business we are currently looking for a Field Service Technician (m/f/d) . As your main responsibility as Field Service Technician, you will perform preventive maintenance and repair of specialized automatic systems with a strong focus on the Center region of Italy (Emilia-Romagna) . As part of your role you will also perform installations of our Nordson systems. Operating in the After Market of our designated PPA (Packaging and Product Assembly) systems, you will have an important role by providing on-site end-user support, installation supervision, technical support, maintenance and repairs to a wide range of “Hot Melt” and “Liquid Adhesive” dispensing equipment, prevalently but not limited, in the regions of Northern Italy. Knowing no two days are the same, you will be given the possibility to develop new technologies for applications as required, based upon field application, customers and field engineering needs. The key responsibilities of the Field Service Technician we are looking for include: Performing the installation of specialized automatic system as necessary. Performing preventive maintenance and repair on demand on Nordson equipment Continuous maintenance of detailed knowledge of Nordson products, prices, policies, and procedures; knowing which Nordson products can be most advantageously used with various PPA Market Applications. Interfacing with the Sales Specialist to maximize the opportunity for sales of specialized equipment or other Nordson PPA systems and related spare parts. Advising supervisor of new markets, changes in existing markets, competitor activities (prices and product changes), and needs for new or redesigned Nordson hardware. Preparing and promptly submitting administrative and technical reports as requested to supervisor and advises of all field tests or installation requirements that need assistance from Application Engineering, Existing Equipment Engineering, local Account Manager and Sales Specialist. Education and Experience Requirements At minimum an Associate’s Degree in a mechatronics discipline or equivalent and practical experience as a Field Service Engineer / Field Service Technician. Skills and Abilities Advanced skills and knowledge about mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems. Basic electronic knowledge and skills to include the use of typical instrumentation, tools and equipment Ability to read and comprehend installation, dimensional and troubleshooting drawings/flowcharts plus hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, electrical schematic, and wiring diagrams. Preferably to have a (basic) understanding of PLC systems knowledge and interface To possess an excellent computer skillset to maintain records, prepare correspondence, and for communication purposes Having demonstrated supervisory skills as related to customer interface, equipment installation, and field engineering #LI-MS1 About Us Whatever you do today, Nordson Corporation is likely a part of it.
