Offer Description

The candidate will be responsible for characterizing adaptations of muscle oxidative metabolism after disuse and re-training, with particular interest toward mitochondrial function and muscle oxygen diffusive capacity estimated by near-infrared spectroscopy technique.

Main Requirements

  • Degree (with a course duration of not less than 4 years) or post-graduate degrees awarded by Italian or foreign Universities recognized as equivalent. Candidates must provide necessary documentation for qualification assessment.
  • Scientific or professional curriculum suitable for conducting the research activity.
  • If available, any Ph.D. title.

Further Specific Assessable Qualifications

  • Proven research experience in assessing exercise tolerance in subjects undergoing disuse (e.g., bedrest, ULLS, step reduction).
  • Knowledge of basic techniques for in-vivo assessment of muscle oxidative and diffusive capacity.
  • Good knowledge of the English language.
  • Fixed term contracts for research activity in Italy or abroad.
  • Publications and congress communications.
