Your mission As our Accountancy Innovation Lead (Group), you will drive the transformation of accounting systems and processes, focusing on improving operational efficiency and leveraging innovative technologies to enhance the way our accounting function operates across our Headquarter and branches globally. Additionally, you will oversee and manage the entire accounting cycle, ensuring compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Latvia and IFRS standards.
Get ready to: Take charge of managing, improving, and implementing accounting and business processes, with a particular emphasis on process innovation and system optimization.
Identify and integrate new tools and technologies to modernize the accounting function, ensuring it is aligned with the latest fintech trends.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information for the annual report and coordinate with both external and internal auditors.
Supervise and manage the entire accounting cycle, ensuring compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Latvia and IFRS standards, while overseeing operations in branches where Balcia is represented.
Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the accounting function.
Lead and oversee the preparation of financial, tax, and statistical reports for management, financial institutions, and government entities in Latvia and other countries.

To fit in here you’ll need: Higher education in accounting, finance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a leadership role within accounting, finance, or a related field.
Experience in insurance or the financial sector (will be considered an advantage).
Proven experience with implementing or enhancing financial systems, and strong knowledge of accounting software systems.
Excellent knowledge of Latvian accounting, tax, and labor legislation, as well as a deep understanding of IFRS.
Good knowledge of English.
