Adjunct Faculty - Biology

The Department of Biology will accept applications for adjunct teaching positions in undergraduate courses throughout the year. When a teaching vacancy arises, we will consider the submitted applications in an effort to staff the course.

All applicants must apply online at and complete a faculty profile. Online applications must include:

  • A current and complete resume/curriculum vitae.
  • A cover letter or letter of interest. The letter should include the following three pieces of information:
    • The type of courses the applicant is interested in teaching;
    • The time period during which the applicant expects to be available;
    • The names and the contact information of three references.
  • If the applicant wishes to submit any other supporting documents, they may submit them online in conjunction with the application.

Position Summary: Villanova University invites applications for adjunct teaching positions in Biology for undergraduate courses only. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester. The applicant must be committed to excellence in the teaching of Biology. Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work (scanned copies acceptable), and a Statement of Teaching Philosophy and Approach. Review of applications will begin immediately when an opening arises.

Teaching and related duties will vary with the specific course(s) being taught.

Minimum Qualifications

Advanced degree in Biology or a closely related discipline is required and/or experience suitable for course instruction.

Previous teaching experience preferred.
