Data Center Manager, Data Center Operations AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. Ability to refine and develop processes to optimize operational excellence in every area of your role. Can drive performance levels to achieve the pace at which we build and operate Data Centers in India for Amazon Data Services India Private Limited ("ADSIPL"). Previous experience in Data Centers, either building or managing (or both). Exposure to developing great relationships with both internal teams and external vendors. About The Role As a Data Center Manager in ADSIPL, you will manage the world's largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure in India. You will innovate to solve complex problems and help drive Operations Excellence across all areas of your role. Day‐to‐Day Responsibilities Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance. Maintain existing co‐located and in‐house Data Centers. Help build and bring online new Data Centers. Constantly improve all processes and procedures. Assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors. Liaise with internal teams and management groups. Ensure adherence to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all Data Centers. Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of Data Centers and utilize those metrics to drive positive changes. Assist in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc. Qualifications People Management: Managed a team of at least 5 individuals over at least 3 years; demonstrated ability to improve performance of existing teams and grow new teams; experience with high & low performing employees and conflict management. Incident Management: Experience dealing with high severity situations, understanding blast implications, and managing change and fault scenarios. Vendor Management: Proven experience dealing with external vendors, contractors, and security companies while managing incidents and conflicts. Process Improvement: Ability to improve processes; experience with process mapping, remediations, Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma. Health & Safety: Ability to positively influence Safety culture. Basic Qualifications Experience in major facilities incident management. Experience leading process improvements. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication; experience troubleshooting network. 7+ years of operations management experience. Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent, with 5+ years of engineering work managing large‐scale services and 3+ years of managing technical teams. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM field, or 3+ months of network and operating system support experience. Experience in project management. 1+ years of Agile methods and processes experience. 3+ years of capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or similar experience. Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts. Experience implementing change management successfully transitioning programs into large‐scale operations.
