Lab Engineer, Manufacturing Test Optimization, Amazon Leo Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. We've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. Export Control Requirement: Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum due to applicable export control laws and regulations. In this role, you will work with a team of engineers responsible for designing standardized test equipment used on the shop floor. The equipment must be scalable for contract manufacturing and Leo factory locations, optimizing provisioning and testing time by partnering with design engineering and software teams. You will partner with CM site representatives, provide recommendations for design for manufacturing, and collaborate across the org with software and hardware teams to identify requirements, prioritize critical efforts, and provide updates to senior management and stakeholders. Key Job Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain test fixtures to verify software on embedded hardware; create and maintain documentation. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues. Develop integration and test plans while closely working with systems engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, and RF integration teams. Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around production productivity and velocity. Drive adoption of best practices in test hardware and software maintainability. Contribute to standardization and process improvement activities. Basic Qualifications 1 years of experience in consumer electronics lab environments. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience. Experience in software QA testing, including writing test plans, use cases, and issue reports. Experience in a Linux or Unix environment. Experience planning and maintaining lab facilities for optimal efficiency and creating new processes when necessary. Preferred Qualifications Experience configuring, deploying, and testing software updates, including the ability to identify issues and escalate to development as appropriate. Experience running user trials, beta or field testing, or collecting customer feedback. Experience working with hardware and software teams for setting up, testing, and troubleshooting prototype devices. Knowledge of tools and measurement devices (oscilloscope, frequency analyzer, or equivalent). The base pay for this position ranges from $73,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
