The Construction Contract Specialist manages drafting construction contracts, task orders, work requests or any other type of document that would be necessary in order to acquire goods/services from a contractor.

What you can expect

  • Draft, review, negotiate and amend contracts for construction assignments (but not only) as Client’s Representative
  • Contract monitor during works execution with reference to quantity surveying, process and permitting transparency
  • Interface with Direzione Lavori, Main Contractor and Public Authorities (if required) to meet contract requirements
  • Manage claims and discussions with Main Contractor and Direzione Lavori
  • Ensure all the technical aspects in the contract are understood and applied during works
  • Manage contract development through all lifecycle stages ensuring that insurance, bonding, and legal requirements are met and internal processes and records are maintained
  • Comply with all safety and security rules and regulations, leading by example
  • Support the department and business unit where required
  • Follow the corporate authority matrix, contract policies compliance guidelines
  • Actively report improvement opportunities to direct report

What you bring to the table

The Construction Contract Specialist is a detail-oriented and process-minded individual able to include small details in each contract. The person would have good communication skills to work and manage relationships with a variety of vendors.

  • Good English (Italian and/or German are a plus)
  • Excellent understanding of the technical aspects of a construction project (i.e., design stages, works execution, test and commissioning)
  • Previous experience with Direzione Lavori and/or as Client’s Representative (ideally in infrastructures or environmental projects) with a focus on contract management
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract documents and legal specifications
  • Outstanding negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks
  • Experience of successfully engaging and communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a multicultural, international environment
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in project management, engineering, or law.

The ideal candidate would have a valid EU working permit and would be willing to work in Trieste.
