Job description: The figure will be responsible for identifying, originating, and developing new business opportunities and strategic industrial projects in Italy. Specifically, they will deal with:

  • Proactively identifying and originating new business opportunities and industrial projects across the Italian market;
  • Identifying potential end users, customers, and industrial partners in sectors where energy transition and decarbonisation technologies can generate significant value;
  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders including industrial companies, utilities, energy developers, engineering companies, EPC contractors, technology providers, institutions, and financial partners;
  • Identifying emerging market trends, regulatory developments, and incentive mechanisms capable of enabling new industrial projects and improving their economic viability;
  • Developing initial project concepts together with customers and partners, connecting technology, industrial demand, energy availability, and potential project economics;
  • Building and coordinating strategic partnerships and project ecosystems required to develop complex industrial opportunities;
  • Conducting preliminary market assessments, business cases, and techno-economic evaluations to determine the attractiveness and feasibility of identified opportunities;
  • Engaging directly with senior decision-makers within potential customers and partners and developing relationships from initial contact through project development;
  • Working closely with the Sales Department, transferring sufficiently mature opportunities into the formal commercial and sales process while continuing to support their development when required;
  • Collaborating with Technology, Engineering, R&D, and Strategy teams to define solutions responding to identified customer and market needs;
  • Monitoring public policies, incentive schemes, and regulatory developments relevant to energy transition and industrial decarbonisation and translating them into potential business opportunities;
  • Representing the company at industry events, conferences, trade fairs, and selected networking activities;
  • Maintaining a structured pipeline of originated opportunities and providing periodic reporting on project status, market developments, and potential strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or another relevant discipline.

Professional experience:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Business Development, Project Development, Strategic Business Development, Energy or Industrial Markets;
  • Demonstrated ability to originate business opportunities rather than exclusively manage existing customer relationships or incoming commercial leads;
  • Strong knowledge of the Italian industrial and energy ecosystem;
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Energy & Infrastructure, Industrial Decarbonisation, Renewable Energy, Hydrogen & Renewable Fuels, Industrial Gases, Heavy Industry, Mobility & Transport or Advanced Energy Technologies;
  • Experience developing complex B2B projects involving multiple industrial and institutional stakeholders;
  • Existing relationships within the Italian industrial, energy, or infrastructure ecosystem would be a strong advantage;
  • Familiarity with energy regulation, public incentive mechanisms, or project economics would be considered a significant plus.
