Senior Production Manager (Leather Goods)

About the job
Reporting to the Industrial Director, as Production Manager you will be responsible for all planning and production activities linked to Montblanc Leather Goods. With the support of your team, you will assure that operations objectives regarding production capacity, delivery rate, and cost efficiency are met, or put in place action plans to reach them.

The Production Manager is in charge of manufacturer relationships and will collaborate with them on a daily basis.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

As Production Manager, you will be in charge of:

  • Production performance management
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with vendors
  • Monitoring production performance at each step of the process
  • Defining and editing Performance KPI with Vendor Rating for manufacturers
  • Animating regular meetings with partners for performance review and following up on implementation of action plans
  • Supporting operationally your team with prioritization for capacity allocation at manufacturers
  • Managing priorities or action plans at the Pelletteria Richemont logistic center for shipments to the Montblanc logistic center
  • Leading improvement actions to reduce production lead-times in coordination with continuous improvement teams
  • Guaranteeing the success of the Maison’s launch plan for novelties, ensuring deliveries are on time, meet requested profitability, and quality requirements
  • Assuring efficient coordination between purchasing, industrialization, and production phases
  • Preparing alerts/reports with operational teams if discrepancies arise
  • Following the milestones of novelties projects on a weekly basis
  • Participating actively in weekly novelties meetings and providing corrective actions to production/purchasing issues
  • Working with the Industrialization & Purchasing Team to shorten the Time To Market of novelties
  • Identifying process bottlenecks and implementing solutions in a timely manner
  • Managing mid and long-term planning activities for Leather Goods
  • Running the monthly cycle of planning in PRF, in collaboration with manufacturers and Maison’s Operations teams
  • Preparing workload analysis for mid/long term horizon and validating with the Montblanc development team manufacturer allocations
  • Proposing alternatives to Montblanc Operations teams in case of overload or potential lack of production
  • Researching new partners with the Industrial Director and defining ramp-up plans if needed
  • Communicating major changes to all PRF departments
  • Monitoring material consumptions on a monthly basis and defining action plans with PRF departments and manufacturers to reduce consumptions
  • Implementing actions to reduce COGS regularly while assuring quality standards

HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?

Degree in Engineering/Business Management or equivalent is preferred.
8-10 years of experience as a Production planning and/or control expert within a structured Group/Brand in the Leather Goods industry.
At least one experience as a manager of a team.
Ability to manage flows and methods of finished product on toll manufacturing by interacting with external factories.
Proficiency in English (B2 Level or more).
Knowledge of ERP systems (knowledge of SAP will be considered a strong plus).
Ability to negotiate and interact effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Stress self-control and proactive approach.
