Overview

As a Global Supplier Development Engineer, you will oversee supplier qualification, audits, and performance across critical-to-quality materials. You'll implement QA processes to improve quality and delivery with a global supplier base. You'll lead on-site audits, drive corrective actions, and push continuous improvement across the supply chain. This role supports Hitachi Energy's Transformer Business unit by ensuring compliant, high-quality materials at optimal cost. You will work with cross-functional teams and travel internationally to assess suppliers.

Responsabilità

  • Lead supplier qualification via SAP Ariba assessments and global on-site audits
  • Implement improvement actions at suppliers based on audit findings
  • Oversee global parts approval to meet technical/operational requirements
  • Monitor supplier performance indicators and drive annual Supplier Performance Evaluation
  • Develop action plans for supplier performance recovery with effective corrective measures
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for escalated non-conformities
  • Drive global continuous improvement in supplier management processes
  • Lead SCM tool/system improvement projects within Supplier Quality and Development
  • Act as project lead for single/sole source elimination in critical global categories

Requisiti fondamentali

  • Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Process, Materials, Mechanical, Polymer science or similar)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supplier development and supplier quality management
  • In-depth knowledge of chemicals, gaskets and/or insulation material production processes, specifications, and quality standards in transformer industry (or similar)
  • Solid experience with production process assessment
  • Deep knowledge of Quality and Continuous Improvement tools (Kaizen, DMAIC, A3, 8D, 5Why Analysis)
  • Expertise in APQP/PPAP, P-FMEA, Process Control Plan, SPC, and inspection processes
  • Excellent communication skills for international environment
