Offer Description

The transmission of Spanish poetry between the Renaissance and the Baroque unfolds along a dual axis of manuscript and printed circulation. The poetic genres prevalent during this period find still in the manuscript copy — in the form of cancionerillos, cartapacios, and other collections an anthological character - an important vehicle for dissemination. The tradition of the text is configured like this in a complex manner and, sometimes, follows a path that passes from the manuscript copy to the prints or vice versa, or even uses both methods simultaneously. The purpose of the project is to investigate how, for specific traditions, this interaction is a real constitutive element, with important reflections on the texts themselves, which are thus also characterized on the basis of the medium that makes their circulation possible.
