Marketing Director Carpe Diem Tours Rome, Italy | Hybrid (3 days/week in office + travel) Reports to: CEO Role Overview Carpe Diem Tours is seeking a Marketing Director to define, lead, and execute our marketing strategy across all channels. This is a player-coach role combining strategic ownership with hands-on involvement. You will lead multiple in-house marketing teams, own the marketing budget, collaborate closely with senior leadership, and oversee external partners. You will take a proactive approach to identifying growth opportunities, improving performance, and evolving the marketing function, while acting as a key connection between the marketing department, the CEO, and the Board of Directors. Your focus will be on driving growth in line with company projections while maintaining and evolving an established brand. What Success Looks Like Achieving company sales targets Increasing direct revenue by 12% Successful execution of new product launches Marketing Functions You Will Own Performance & Channel Marketing: OTA marketing (leading the in-house OTA team), SEO, PPC strategy and vendor management Content, Copy & Social Media: Oversight of all marketing copy and the in-house Copywriter and Social Media / Content team Lifecycle & Email Marketing: Strategy, campaign integration, and performance alignment Digital Experience: Website content, performance, CRO, UX, and coordination with the internal tech team Brand, Innovation & Emerging Channels: Brand stewardship, AI/LLM search visibility, and testing new tools and approaches Key Responsibilities Define and evolve marketing strategy in collaboration with leadership Plan and execute integrated, multi-channel campaigns Lead, align, and develop four in-house marketing teams Own and manage the marketing budget and investment decisions Manage external agencies and vendors Ensure brand consistency while supporting ongoing evolution Track performance, report results, and provide insights to leadership Skills & Attributes Strategic, execution-focused marketer with strong ownership mentality Proven people leader able to set direction and hold teams accountable Creative thinker grounded in data and results Comfortable managing multiple teams, channels, and priorities Working knowledge of AI and LLM tools applied practically in marketing Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Experience & Qualifications 3–5 years of marketing experience with increasing responsibility Proven experience leading teams and owning marketing budgets Experience in tours or experience based businesses required Fluency in English required Location & Work Style Hybrid role based in Rome In-office 3 days per week Travel to other Carpe Diem Tours destinations as need Please apply at the following link:
