We are seeking a Senior Project Controls Lead to oversee a multi-disciplinary project controls team and ensure critical project information is delivered to key stakeholders promptly. This role will play a vital part in supporting key decision-making processes and ensuring that the project continues to meet business-critical milestones.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team to ensure project controls are implemented effectively across all phases of the project, typically for large projects or a series of smaller projects.
Ensure client requirements are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle and oversee compliance with governance standards.
Employ strong analytical and strategic approaches to deliver successful project outcomes.
Assess contractor and engineering bids, change notices, and costs to ensure value for the client.
Assist with preparing project funding documentation for the client.
Provide visible leadership on-site, monitoring contractor and engineering progress.
Develop and manage cost forecasts for major client developments.
Negotiate pricing agreements with external partners to achieve cost-effective solutions.
Monitor project schedules, reporting on deviations and issues as required.
Lead estimate review meetings and prepare owner estimates.
Proactively manage and lead risk management efforts, conducting reviews and analyses.
Apply change management practices to ensure that project data remains current and relevant.
Support the final reconciliation of contracts and purchase orders.
Provide regular updates to stakeholders with monthly executive and project status reports, cost and cashflow reports, project schedule updates, and risk assessments.

Key Requirements:

Strong collaborative and autonomous work ethic, with the ability to engage with and influence project teams effectively.
A degree in construction, engineering, or a related field, or an industry-recognised technical or management qualification.
Experience in project controls and process improvements.
Relevant technical industry qualifications (e.g., from institutions like RICS, PMI, APM, or AACE) along with management and leadership experience in Project Controls.
Familiarity with project controls software packages and an understanding of their benefits.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior executives both internally and externally.
Solid experience in risk management and a strong understanding of quantitative risk analysis techniques.
Proven track record in project controls roles, including cost control, scheduling, change management, and estimating.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage your own priorities and deadlines.
Passion for building strong relationships with teams and clients, fostering a shared purpose and fostering an open and enjoyable environment.
Significant experience in the pharmaceutical sector is preferred.
