About the Role

There has been a significant increase in the number and severity of large-scale natural disasters events requiring State recovery co-ordination or support. As a result, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services have invested in resources to enhance its ability to coordinate State recovery operations for communities impacted by disasters and to improve community resilience and recovery outcomes.

This role will fill a currently vacant position, established to undertake a variety of project-based work across DFES State Recovery, supporting the development and implementation of community recovery initiatives, programs, and policies. Project activities may include:

Researching, collating, and providing information and advice. Assisting with the assessment of recovery grants. Contributing to the preparation of resources and documentation, including presentations and reports. Assisting in the development and maintenance of processes and documentation to ensure efficient and effective workflows. Documenting and tracking lessons learned, recommendations and actions.

DFES is an emergency services organisation and all employees may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.
