What you will do:As Head of Manufacturing Design-to-Cost, you will be responsible for all activities related to: DesigntoCost unit, in collaboration Technology Development, Procurement and other Manufacturing units, analyzes and design product/process cost reduction strategies; Make target cost estimations from the early stages of the design of Gridspertise devices, from which a draft BOM (Bill-OfMaterials) and assembly flow can be derived. During the development phase of the project, the DesigntoCost unit will continue to work with the design and engineering functions to push for the most costefficient implementation of features; Update and evolve its models according to the actual sales volume, to assess the business case for product modifications (like new features or Designtocost measures) and to support business decisions (in response to changes in factor costs or in the supply base, for example); Monitor constantly components market to individuate alternative solutions to ensure, where possible, updated multiple sources lists at the best market condition, to reduce BOM cost and meet production and revenue targets; Identify components and materials criticalities early and find alternative sources to avoid resulting production stops and high components procurement costs; Monitoring and negotiation with components suppliers to reach the cost targets. Quantifying the cost level of competitors' solutions and feeding these results back into their own design process.
Who you are:

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree Electronic or equivalent with:
  • At least 5 years of experience in cost engineering teams of companies that manufacture electronic products for industrial/automotive/home appliance markets.
  • Experience in team management will represent a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of components and materials used for manufacturing electronic products.
  • Knowledge of main electronic manufacturing processes (pcb assembly, testing, product assembly).
  • Experience in electronic design will represent a plus.
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of Portuguese and/or Spanish will represent a plus
