POST CONTEXT Headquarters Allied Joint Force Command Naples is a Joint Headquarters, operating at the Operational Level, capable of executing effective command and control over assigned forces in order to achieve Operational effects in an assigned Joint Operating Area.

As a Joint Force Command the relationships with other NATO Command Structure and NATO Force Structure Component Command Headquarters will change between baseline activities, crisis and conflict.

It also provides Joint competencies to assigned NATO Force Structure Headquarters tasked to deploy as Joint Task Force Headquarters. The Operations Directorate is responsible for directing, monitoring, assessing and coordinating operational staff functions.

The J2 Division provides Intelligence in support of the planning, preparation, conduct and assessment of NATO assigned operations across all domains from Baseline Activities and Current Operations (BACO) through Crisis up to the Maximum Level of Effort (MLE), thus supporting the Commanders and HQ Staffs decision process.

The Intelligence Assessment Branch provides a comprehensive picture of the engagement space covering all the Political, Military, Economic, Social, Information and Infrastructure (PMESII) domains in order to support the planning, conduct of operations and engagement functions of the JF HQ while in garrison and during an operation and/or exercise, and contributes to the federated intelligence production in ACO.

The Non Military/Governance Assessment Section develops and maintains subject matter expertise of potential non military adversaries.

The incumbent analyses information on Media and social media in order to contribute to the development of a comprehensive picture of the engagement space, and supports the Knowledge Development, the operational planning and decision making processes based on.

The incumbent reports to OJS OIAN Section Head (Non-Military and Governance Assessment), A3/G17. 2.

DUTIESThe incumbent's duties are:

Analyses information and intelligence pertaining to the "PMESII information domain" in order to contribute to the development of a comprehensive picture of the engagement space, and in support of the Knowledge Development, and the operational planning and decision making processes of JFCNP.

Examine RUS, as complex adaptive systems, to identify behaviors and structures, and to assess strengths, vulnerabilities and interrelations.
Examine the RUS Information Environment, to identify Military Information Activities (MIA) conducted by other parties behaviours and structures.

Contributes to the Campaign Synchronization (mainly through the JOC Crisis Action Teams, for the short-term, and Joint Coordination Working Group for the mid-term, or through other working groups, as appropriate).Maintains situational awareness of ongoing and current operations for the JFC, providing the conduit of current operations, including the RUS information domain, to the Information WG.Serves as the on-call RUS Info Ops SO to the JOC and may be called on to provide input to the Situational Awareness brief for the RUS information activities in the information domain.

Contributes to the synchronization of the military information activities to create desired effects on the will, understanding and capability of RUS in support of mission objectives.

The incumbent may be required to perform like duties elsewhere within the organization as directed.
The incumbent is required to undertake operation deployments and/or TDY assignments both within and outside NATO's boundaries.
The work is normally performed in a Normal NATO office working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL University Degree and 4 years post related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 5 years post related and 2 years function related experience.

Degree or equivalent in media studies, social sciences, cultural studies or related discipline and 2 years function related experience. Sound understanding of the interaction of those disciplines with military operations. Extensive work experience as analyst in public or private media sector.

Must have an English Standard Language Proficiency level of "professional" in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing (SLP 3333 based on NATO standards).Must have an Russian Standard Language Proficiency level of "professional" in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing (SLP 3333 based on NATO standards).DESIRABLE Post-graduate university education in international affairs, political science, law, military strategic studies, economics.

Previous experience in the Intelligence functional area .Educational and practical background of one of the different PMESII domains derived from a university education and working experience.4.

POSITION AND CANDIDATE PROFILEPersonal attributesThe incumbent must be able to integrate into a military organization and work in a team.

Good communication skills are essential to interaction at senior leader's levels. Frequently works under pressure, works long/irregular hours, and carries high workload. Must be able to work outside normal office hours and environment.

Must be able to travel regularly to other HQs for coordination and ready to deploy temporarily to deployed HQ in support of development of security requirements.

The incumbent must be flexible and able to work in more than one context simultaneously. Ability to solve problems with minimal guidance, proving managerial skills and analytical planning.

Professional contactsThe incumbent will have professional contacts with staff personnel of JFC HQ as well as higher and subordinate NATO HQs.

The incumbent should be able to represent the Branch and to brief senior staff officer in the area of expertise.

Contribution to the objectivesPMESII Systems analysis represents the most important contribution to the Knowledge development process.

It is the prerequisite of the advise given to the HQ leadership and staff, and directly impacts upon policy guidance issued within the HQ, subordinate commands and deployed formations.

The incumbent's analysis and recommendation will influence the NATO operational level planning and decision making process.5.

CONTRACT The successful candidate will be offered a 3-year definite duration contract within the NATO 2030 Agenda.

The basic entry-level monthly salary for a NATO Grade 15 (A-2) in Italy is Euro 5,743.74which is exempt from national taxation.6.
