Job Description

Are you interested in expanding your experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety? If so, Jabil in Florence, KY is looking for a dedicated individual to join their team as an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer/Specialist. The primary role of the EHS Engineer/Specialist is to ensure a safe and healthy work environment that complies with all relevant regulations. This includes developing and upholding safety policies, procedures, and communications to keep employees informed about safety guidelines.

  • This is a full-time position based in Florence, KY, with occasional travel to other sites for training opportunities (under 5%).
  • The role may involve working across three different facilities.
  • A $5,000 Sign-On Bonus is available for external candidates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize knowledge of OSHA standards to establish safety policies and procedures for company personnel in compliance with safety regulations at all levels.
  • Familiarity with Hazardous Waste Generator and DOT requirements, LOTO, PIT, PPE, Electrical Safety, HAZCOM, and Ergonomics.
  • Provide safety training for employees.
  • Build strong relationships with other departments and Leadership to promote a proactive EHS culture.
  • Offer guidance on equipment use, fire prevention, and safety protocols to all departments.
  • Identify and address hazards effectively.
  • Lead Change Management initiatives for EHS purposes.
  • Optimize manufacturing workspace layout for safety.
  • Create and implement safety policies and guidelines.
  • Conduct facility inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Develop training programs and communication strategies to enhance safety practices.
  • Participate in accident investigations.
  • Maintain safety records and systems.
  • Support company safety and quality programs.
  • Additional duties as required based on company evolution.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Preferably a minimum of 2 years of Health/Safety manufacturing experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to lead and present in meetings.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is a plus.
