The Nice Group is looking for a Product Sustainability and Eco-design Leader for the CTO organization.

Main responsibilities


The Product Sustainability and Eco-design Leader will drive the implementation of sustainable practices and principles within an organization's product development and design processes.

He/She will be responsible for integrating environmental considerations and sustainability into the entire product lifecycle, from concept and design to manufacturing and end-of-life disposal.

His/her main objective will be to minimize the environmental impact of products while maximizing their overall sustainability.

The Product Sustainability and Eco-design Leader will report hierarchically to the Nice's Group CTO.

Detail Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable design strategies: he/she will lead the development and implementation of ecodesign and sustainability strategies for products, considering factors such as materials, energy efficiency, carbon footprint, waste reduction, and recyclability.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams: he/she will work closely with product designers, engineers, manufacturing teams, and supply chain managers to incorporate sustainable design principles into product development processes.
  • Conduct life cycle assessments: he/she will conduct comprehensive life cycle assessments (LCAs) to identify environmental impacts associated with products and propose improvement opportunities.
  • Research and stay uptodate: he/she will continuously monitor industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to ecodesign and product sustainability.
  • Set sustainability targets and track progress: he/she will establish sustainability goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for products and track progress towards achieving them.
  • Educate and train stakeholders: he/she will provide training and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders on ecodesign principles, sustainable practices, and the importance of environmental stewardship.
  • Engage with external partners and stakeholders: he/she will collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to promote sustainable design practices, influence industry standards, and identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
  • Report and communicate sustainability efforts: he/she will prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate the organization's sustainability initiatives, progress, and achievements to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, sustainability, industrial design, or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental principles, sustainable design methodologies, and life cycle assessment.
  • Experience in product design, development, or manufacturing, with a focus on sustainability and ecodesign.
  • Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations, standards, and certifications.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to identify and implement sustainable design solutions.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex sustainability concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive environmental change.
