General context of the project
INTERSOS is a humanitarian organisation founded in 1992, working on the frontlines of crisis situations.

In its countries of operation, INTERSOS intervenes to assist the most vulnerable populations affected by conflicts, extreme poverty, natural and manmade disasters in challenging and hard-to-reach areas, where the humanitarian needs continue to be the greatest and where the humanitarian presence is often weak.

In such contexts, INTERSOS focuses on providing forcibly displaced populations and host communities with life-saving humanitarian assistance, in the areas of Protection,Health & Nutrition, as well as WASH and Shelter.


INTERSOS operations are guided by its Charter of Values and by the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence.

Every intervention is characterized by the centrality of the human being, the principle from which INTERSOS values descend. Specifically,INTERSOS is borderless, impartial, independent, sensitive to local cultures, attentive to local capacity,professional in solidarity, and transparent.

INTERSOS also adheres to the Code of Conduct for theInternational Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGOs in Disaster Relief.


General purpose of the position
Lead the Recruitment team to ensure the efficiency of the recruitment process,

Developing search strategies and build talent pipelines.

Main responsibilities and tasks

  • In liaison with the the Area HR Coordinatore and the relevant departments, impulse HR planning
  • Provide regular reports on recruitment and selection activities
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, programme updates and annual officewide debates to participate in information sharing across all departments
  • Participate and supervise the participation to HR department initiatives such as recruitment days
  • Supervise the revision of HR documents, in particular of standardised templates for recruitment process (e

g:
staff requests, job description, vacancies, check lists)

  • Manage filing systems and archives, making improvements and ensuring privacy of personnel records
  • Innovatively impulsing the active recruitment activities providing analysis and guidance
  • Take initiative to provide innovative solutions to challenges and ensure timeliness and efficiency in recruitment;
  • Drafting, developing, implementing and updating recruiting policies
  • Facilitating interlocution with all actors related to recruitment process and activitiy
  • Keep the roster alive by implementing a regular contact with the partipants and respond in a more effective manner to the emergencies
  • Through data analysis, provide strategic advise to the direction of the organization in terms of recruitment and staffing
  • Surveillance and input on external communication related to visitibility for potential applicants, including vacancy coherence
  • Ensure consistent and effective implementation of Equal Opportunities & Diversity policy and procedures

Education

  • University degree in Humanities, Social Science, Psychology or related field.

Professional experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within an inhouse recruitment function
  • Working experience with NGOs is preferable

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong decisionmaking skill
  • Strong report writing skills with the ability to manage, analyse, assimilate and present data
  • Critical thinker, able to identify issues and opportunities, provide solutions and reach consensus with multiple stakeholders;

Languages

  • Excellent command of English and French
  • Italian is desirable
