Tenuta Toscana is searching for a COMMIS DE RANG We are seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Commis de Rang to support the smooth operation of our restaurant located in the heart of the Tuscan countryside at Tenuta Toscana. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering exceptional service, ensuring a seamless dining experience for every guest. A genuine appreciation for Tuscan cuisine, its rich flavours, and local traditions is essential. The role requires maintaining a friendly, professional, and approachable service style, blending elegance with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You will work closely with senior team members to assist in the preparation of the dining room, the table settings, and provide support during service. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the high standards of service are maintained throughout the guest experience. The Commis de Rang will report directly to the Chef de Rang and the Restaurant Manager, collaborating with the team to deliver operational efficiency and exceed guest expectations. Main duties and responsibilities Support senior staff in delivering attentive, warm, and professional service, contributing to a smooth and memorable dining and guest experience Assist in ensuring that all tables are properly set and maintained throughout service, upholding the refined standards of Tenuta Toscana Serve and present dishes and beverages when required, ensuring correct timing and respectful interaction with guests Remain attentive to guest needs during service, responding promptly and discreetly to requests or issues as directed by senior team members Follow directions from Chef de Rang and senior staff with professionalism, supporting daily service operations with a positive and proactive attitude Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning, developing product knowledge, technical skills, and an understanding of luxury service standards Prepare mise-en-place for service, ensuring all elements (cutlery, glassware, service stations) are clean, polished, and ready before opening Handle service tools and equipment carefully, following hygiene and safety standards at all times Maintain cleanliness and order in the dining area and service stations during and after shifts, contributing to a well-organized environment Ensure strict adherence to HACCP guidelines and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and safe environment Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth coordination during service Present yourself with professional grooming and appearance in line with the standards of a 5-star environment Demonstrate reliability, discretion, and a respectful attitude toward guests and colleagues alike Adhere to the values and service philosophy of Tenuta Toscana, showing integrity and attention to detail in all tasks Respect guest privacy and internal confidentiality at all times, handling information with sensitivity and care Requirements Previous experience in a similar service role within a luxury environment, preferably in a 5-star or high-end setting Basic knowledge of dining etiquette, food, and wine pairings, with a genuine interest in local Tuscan cuisine and wines Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to assist guests in a friendly, professional, and approachable manner Attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a seamless service flow and anticipate guest needs Knowledge of English and Italian at conversational level is essential Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of a luxury hospitality environment Professional grooming and appearance, in line with the high standards of a 5-star luxury setting Benefits Full-time contract in accordance with the Italian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) Meals provided both during working hours and on days off Uniforms and laundry service provided Ongoing training to enhance personal and professional development Access to exclusive events for Castelfalfi team members Discounts on dining, wellness, and sports activities available at the resort and estate Accommodation with free Wi-Fi can be arranged upon request for those coming from outside the area This research is addressed to candidates of both genders with reference to Italian Law 903/77 and Law 125/91.
