CAE IT System Administration

Design&CAE team supports Customers applicative projects by means of Computer Simulations, Data for Computer Simulations, CAE Methodology Developments and CAE specific material testing. The team (about 10 people in EU, collaborating with APAC and USCAN teams) performs this activity using dedicated software and lab equipment, not of general LYB use, through proprietary methods and material data. For this support, the team receives and maintains customer project data, to be considered as confidential.

The CAE IT System Administrator is responsible for the administration of the HW/SW CAE system, ensures proper working of the software, maintains and updates the SW versions and licenses, supports CAE team users in best use of resources, organizes backups and security and supports managers about the CAE IT system Development. This includes CAE-specific tools and lab equipment.

This function reports to "CAE IT System and Material Database" within the team, and acts in agreement with LYB IT Organization.

• Monitor and manages the use of CAE team HW/SW system resources
• Supports users in the resolutions of issues related to usage of CAE HW/SW system
• Ensure security and backup of data related to CAE team activities
• Ensure technical link with IT Dept. about integration of CAE system within LYB network
• Develops software tools for data conversion and elaboration, both about CAE simulation results and CAE laboratory test equipment output.
• Supports selection and installation of CAE SW tools, verifying compatibility and issues
• Supports applicative projects by manipulating CAD part geometries, building CAE meshes and occasionally performing basic CAE simulations (Moldlfow)
• Supports CAE test laboratories with computer and software maintenance and update, occasionally also concerning data acquisition systems
• Supports CAE team supplier management about Purchase Order creation, Good Receipt input, etc by using prescribed tools (SAP, Ariba, etc) and maintaining cost control.

• Computer Network management
• Computer Hardware installation and basic maintenance
• Software license management tools, knowledge and usage
• Experience in laboratory equipment and data acquisition
• Deep experience in PC Operating system (MS-Windows) and MS-Office tools
• Programming tools: Visual Basic, Python, Fortran (mandatory). Optional: C++, Java, LabView...
• Basic knowledge of some of the CAE tools in use in the team (Hyperworks, Moldlfow)

• Required: High School degree in Informatics, Electronics or equivalent
• Preferred: University degree in Informatics, Electronics or equivalent
• Min 3 years of work in a CAD or CAE team or equivalent
• Min 3 years experience in CAD/CAE HW and SW management and administration incl. network management, preferably including laboratory equipment
• English and Italian fluent
