We have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing and fast paced business as an experiencedPayroll Assistant on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager this role will be responsible for processing payroll across the Ground Control group of more than 1000 staff.

Key accountabilities are to:

  • Prepare and input payroll data into the payroll software to include starters leavers and amendments.
  • Administer and calculate staff pay overtime SSP SMP Pensions and other adjustments
  • Be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly payrolls

We are also in the process of implementing a new payroll system therefore you will support the Payroll Manager with this transition. Therefore there will be a strong systems focus to this role

The person;

To be successful in this role you will need proven experience in a payroll processing role preferably in a medium to largesized organization. Youll need extensive experience of payroll software as well as being able to demonstrate experience in processing multiple payrolls. An understanding of payroll laws and regulations including tax as well as a strong knowledge of payroll best practices procedures and systems are also essential.

In addition you will need;

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail ensuring accuracy in payroll calculations and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet software.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to explain complex payroll issues to nontechnical staff.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Problemsolving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving payroll issues.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Detailoriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
