What you will do

For our Building Technologies & Solutions division in Milan, we are currently looking for a Business Development Manager in Building Solutions – Real Estate.

As BDM in Building Solutions – Real Estate, you will be responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships within general contractors, clients, agencies, and installers, as well as for the overall promotion of Johnson Controls products and solutions.

How you will do it

  • Responsible for establishing an ongoing partnership with general contractors, final clients, agencies, and installers.
  • Direct management of all sales negotiations up to final closure.
  • Manage proposals ensuring that a quote will meet customers’ application and operational needs.
  • Validate assumptions made during promotion meetings and build a detailed cost estimate and scope of work.
  • Provide risk analysis for the complete solution.
  • Understand the full range of JC offerings and their applications in customer solutions.
  • Devise multiple offerings to meet specific program requirements.
  • Assist in identifying specification issues or interpretation discrepancies and provide solutions to resolve them.
  • Review estimates with the appropriate operations & sales team to get mutual agreement on estimates.
  • Own the JC value proposition to consultants by continuously optimizing the link between consultant’s operations and our business objectives, needs, requirements, and JC’s solutions to provide a total value solution and competitive advantage.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of competitors’ business products & solutions.

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or equivalent through experience.
  • Five to eight years of experience in building systems (BMS and Integrated solutions) or operational processes.
  • Demonstrated strong technical subject matter expertise to foster credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment.
  • Demonstrated commercial attitude to establish partnerships with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence consultants in their technical project choices.
  • Strong teamwork attitude.
  • Computer literacy, particularly with MS Word and Excel.
  • Fluent in Italian & English (verbal, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work under pressure while ensuring deadlines are met.
