We are currently seeking a Senior Coating Engineer, reporting directly to the Industrial Coatings & Insulation section head to join our Plant Design & Materials Division team based in Rome, Italy.

About the Job

You will work inside the Industrial Coatings & Insulation section that is in charge of the development of all the project specifications for protective coatings, thermal and acoustic insulation, fireproofing, and refractory linings. You will act as the focal point for all the above-mentioned disciplines, especially for refractory linings and fireproofing.

Key interactions of the Coating Engineer are internally with Project teams, Process, Procurement, Construction, and other engineering disciplines; externally with Clients, Vendors, and Suppliers.

The role and your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  1. Ensure timely and qualitative preparation of project technical specifications in coordination with other disciplines;
  2. Elaborate insulation and painting summaries for both piping and equipment;
  3. Issue all the technical documentation and price schedule for insulation, painting, fireproofing, and refractory lining subcontracts;
  4. Analyze offers from subcontractors, perform the technical Bid Tabulation (including technical clarifications and deviations);
  5. Review all the Vendors documentation;
  6. Adhere to the committed man/hours and budget;
  7. Meet quality and HSE objectives of the project;
  8. Interface with other discipline specialist engineers and project support functions such as procurement and planning.


You will have the opportunity to do business trips to attend technical meetings with Clients or Suppliers, move to other Technip Energies operating centers, and join our colleagues overseas. Occasionally, you will also have the opportunity to follow up engineering activities related to protective coatings, insulation, fireproofing, and refractory linings directly on our sites, supporting the erection activities.

About You

We'd love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:
  1. Qualifications: Engineering Degree
  2. Professional experience: at least 5 years, preferably in-depth knowledge of refractory linings and fireproofing materials
  3. Languages: English fluent
  4. Main Skills:
  5. Attitude to perform the work in a team, in an international and multi-cultural environment
  6. Capability to complete tasks on time with the required Company quality level
  7. Open-minded with respect to new energy sources and digital solutions
  8. Availability for international mobility for either short or long-term assignments
  9. Knowledge of new energy sources, renewables, green/blue hydrogen technologies as well as new digital tools and solutions will be appreciated
  10. Nice to have an advanced knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Package
