Develops clinical education materials in connection with clinical investigations. Provides expertise and clinical insights on the device, procedure, and protocol throughout the life cycle of the clinical investigation.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for certification of the centers, physicians, and other related staff, as well as EW personnel as outlined within EW SOPs.
  2. Interact with KOL and proctors.
  3. Provide education on all aspects of the device, device handling, implantation, and troubleshooting techniques related to equipment, tools, and products required for device implants.
  4. Continuously improve training curriculum, training materials, and training tools based on clinical trial experience, EW guidelines, and SOP.
  5. Educate and train physicians, hospital personnel, and hospital staff on technical matters related to investigational products and procedures through conducting and/or coordinating one-on-one ad hoc training sessions and in-service structured education programs.
  6. Throughout commercial procedures, provide physicians and medical staff with required follow-up support to ensure continuity of education and technical support related to all aspects of patient outcomes.
  7. Plan and implement growth strategies within focused accounts in partnership with the Sales and Sales Management.
  8. Maintain the in-service of products; assure that the customer is prepared to use the Edwards products.
  9. Validate software and hardware updates in the field as applicable.
  10. Learn the product(s), physiology, anatomy, applications, and “language” of the market and Edwards Lifesciences.
  11. Perform routine reviews on clinical support activities, changes in the market and assigned accounts, as well as competitive activity with the NSM and the appropriate Sales Specialist.
  12. Other incidental duties.

Education and Experience:

  1. 1 year of previous related medical device and/or clinical experience (Required).
  2. Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Preferred).
  3. Training experience in clinical/technical environment (Preferred).

Additional Skills:

  1. Good computer skills in MS Office Suite and ability to operate general office machinery.
  2. Good written and verbal communication skills, presentation, and interpersonal relationship skills.
  3. Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  4. Good knowledge and understanding of cardiovascular science.
  5. Good understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, pathology, and physiology.
  6. Good understanding of medical device regulatory requirements and documents, device accountability, and adverse events reporting.
  7. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  8. Strict attention to detail.
  9. Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
  10. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  11. Must be able to work in a team environment, including immediate supervisor and other team members in the section or group.
  12. Ability to build stable working relationships internally.
  13. Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of the environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.
