Senior Bid Manager – Telco Transformation

We are looking for a senior Bid Manager to help ALTEN Italy structure, coordinate and improve its response to strategic Telco opportunities, particularly in transformation, managed services and complex opportunities .


This role is central to closing one of our current gaps: transforming client access and emerging strategic positioning into credible, competitive and better-coordinated proposals.


This is not an administrative bid support role.

It is a high-impact orchestration role requiring commercial intelligence, rigor, speed, strong writing capability, and the confidence to drive multiple stakeholders toward a winning proposal.


The right candidate will support ALTEN in high-quality strategic processes and actively contributing to the Telco business growth through best practices and methodologies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end bid processes for strategic Telco opportunities
  • Work closely with Business Managers, Solution Architects, delivery stakeholders and leadership to structure competitive responses
  • Drive bid governance, timelines, workstreams and deliverable quality
  • Support bid qualification and bid / no-bid process
  • Translate client needs into coherent proposal structures and win-oriented narratives
  • Ensure consistency across technical, commercial, operational and financial proposal components
  • Improve the quality of executive writing, value proposition articulation and overall proposal packaging
  • Support to create repeatable bid assets, templates and working methods for complex Telco opportunities
  • Contribute to competitive positioning and response strategy
  • Support cost logic and collaboration with finance / controlling where needed
  • Act as a quality gate on proposal clarity, coherence and competitiveness


What Success Looks Like

In the first 12 months, the person is expected to:

  • improve the overall quality and consistency of strategic bid responses
  • bring stronger governance and discipline to complex pursuits
  • support a more robust bid / no-bid process
  • help ALTEN become more credible in transformation-oriented opportunities contribute to measurable improvement in conversion quality and proposal competitiveness


Technical / Professional Requirements

Must-have

  • 7+ years of experience in pre-sales, bid management, proposal management, solution selling support, or complex deal pursuit environments with TELCO clients
  • Proven experience with medium-to-large bids in one or more of the following:

-telecom

-technology services

-managed services

-outsourcing

-transformation programs

  • Strong ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders under time pressure
  • Excellent written communication and proposal structuring skills
  • Strong understanding of bid governance, timelines, dependencies and review cycles
  • Ability to connect technical, commercial and financial dimensions into one coherent response
  • Experience in solution-oriented proposal environments, not only administrative tender management
  • Strong English


Nice-to-have

Experience in Telco transformation / operator environments

Exposure to managed services or SLA-based models

Experience in competitive / strategic bids rather than only framework tenders

Familiarity with pricing logic, margin sensitivity and proposal economics


The total compensation for this position will be set in a range between 60.000 to 85.000 euros (Yearly gross salary + bonus).
