OverviewProtecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services ( We are currently looking for a TBM Shift Manager to join our team for a tunnel construction project in the South of London (100% Onsite).Project: Tunnel construction project.Estimated Duration: 12-month contract. In general, when the project ends, we try to relocate the employee to other projects to ensure continuity.ResponsibilitiesSupervise, lead, and coordinate all TBM activities during the assigned shift.Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and quality requirements.Monitor TBM performance, excavation parameters, ring installation, and production rates.Provide technical guidance to Shift Engineers and on-shift personnel.Identify issues affecting TBM operation and support troubleshooting efforts.Complete shift reports, daily logs, and communicate progress to the management team.Coordinate handovers between day and night shifts to ensure operational continuity.Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all shift staff follow safety protocols.RequirementsMinimum of 7 years experience working as a TBM shift manager in tunnel projects or similar projects.Previous experience as a TBM Shift Engineer is required.Solid understanding of TBM operation, tunnelling processes, and related equipment.Proven leadership and team management skills in a tunnelling environment.Strong communication skills and ability to work under rotating shift schedules (7/3/7/4).Ability to respond quickly to operational challenges and make sound decisions.Working hours7/3- 7/4 shifts. 12-hour shifts with rotations: day shifts (8am- 6pm) and night shifts (8pm- 6am).BenefitsWork Visa: Full management and application fees covered by the company2 weeks paternity leaveTravel costs covered (beginning and end of project)2 weeks accommodation at project start (if needed)Company phone providedStart dateto be defined.The description and conditions indicated here are intended to describe the general nature of the work performed by employees but do not constitute a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and general competencies required by the staff.
