The DCA team combines advertising and mobile technologies, smart TVs and Alexa to help our customers discover and engage with content and help Amazon lower prices. We operate at Amazon scale, designing and deploying software that is enjoyed by over 60MM+ active users globally. We solve significant customer problems in the consumer electronics space through devices, mobile applications, computer vision, and machine learning. As the engineering team leader, you’ll work closely with local engineering staff and a team of experts to design and execute your team’s feature roadmap. You will have direct input into requirement definition, and will work closely with our customers, developers and product managers to define, develop and deliver new products and features. The ideal candidate is equally obsessed with delivering the best possible customer experiences and leading and building strong teams. They define software architecture, communicating effectively with engineers, partners, leaders and a broad set of stakeholders. This leader can think long-term, advocate for strong engineering excellence, and bring in their own software development best practices as well as follow best practices from the broader development community in Amazon. We solve significant customer problems in the consumer electronics space through devices, mobile applications, and machine learning.Basic Qualifications3+ years of engineering team management experience7+ years of engineering experience8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teamsExperience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
