An AMZL Area Manager leads and develops a team of operations associates while driving operational excellence in a dynamic delivery station environment. This role combines people leadership, analytical problem-solving, and continuous improvement to ensure successful package delivery operations and customer satisfaction.Key Job ResponsibilitiesLead, develop, and manage a team of 50-100 associates across multiple shiftsDrive safety awareness and maintain compliance with safety proceduresMonitor and analyze key performance metrics (productivity, quality, safety)Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiencyManage labor planning and staffing to meet business needsConduct performance reviews and provide coaching to team membersEnsure compliance with standard operating procedures and quality standardsPartner with cross-functional teams (Operations, HR, Safety, Transportation)Handle employee relations issues and maintain positive team moraleSupport inventory management and loss prevention initiativesA Day in the Life4:30 AM – Arrive at delivery station for morning shiftReview previous shift’s performance metrics and handover notesConduct morning stand‑up meeting with associatesReview staffing levels and adjust labor assignments as needed6:00 AM – Peak sort operationsMonitor sort progress and package flowAddress any operational bottlenecksConduct safety walks and quality auditsCoach associates on proper procedures8:00 AM – Driver dispatch operationsOversee driver check‑in processEnsure routes are properly assignedAddress any loading dock issuesMonitor driver departure compliance10:00 AM – Administrative tasksAnalyze performance dataAttend operations meetingsComplete required reportingAddress associate concernsPlan for upcoming shifts1:00 PM – End of shift activitiesPrepare handover notes for next shiftReview daily performance with teamPlan next day’s staffing and operationsComplete any pending administrative tasksConduct shift close‑out meeting2:30 PM – Shift end(Note: Schedule may vary based on station needs and shift assignment)About the TeamInclusive team culture: At Amazon we embrace our differences and we are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion.
