Apply todayThe Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is hiring individuals with supervision experience to oversee workforce participants and / or inmates' activities at ACI sites and in the community. This role involves supervising production in a manufacturing setting, maintaining security, and fostering a safe and efficient work environment.For further information about the Arizona Correctional Industries, visit :Job DutiesSupervises workforce participants and community-based work crews at ACI work sitesMaintains the safety and security of participants and work crews through site, vehicle, pat, and stripte searchesConducts continuous observations and accountability headcountsOversees production activities and workforce conduct in manufacturing centersCoordinates with the designated Regional Operations and Workforce Development Managers to align workforce efforts with production schedules and operational needsReviews work output, provides coaching, and administers performance evaluations and discipline when necessaryMaintains safe, orderly, and productive work sites and supervises civilian work crew leaders where applicableEnsures timely completion and submission of reports related to incidents, work performance, and operational issuesAssists participants in gaining industry-recognized credentials and accessing apprenticeship programsMonitors contractors for compliance with ACI contract obligationsPartners with ACI’s Training and Education Manager to help participants secure post-release employmentDrives / operates State vehicles to transport participants, attend to worksite needs, or on State businessPerforms other duties appropriate to the assignmentKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)Knowledge ofFederal, State, and agency laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the assignmentPrinciples and practices of inmate management and supervisionProblem-solving and conflict resolution techniquesInventory controlsSearch techniquesSkill inApplying laws, rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresWritten and verbal communicationEstablishing and maintaining interpersonal relationshipsProblem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-makingInventory control and search techniquesAttention to detailPrioritization and time managementLeadership and supervisionAbility toLift / Carry approximately 20 lbs.Push / Pull approximately 20 lbs.Walk / Run approximately .25 milesEstablish and maintain security, order, and discipline measuresWork with and supervise inmatesMaintain security and control of tools, equipment, and confidential informationDiplomatically and tactfully respond to issuesEstablish and maintain professional working relationships with employees and inmatesAdminister work evaluations and work production reviewsEvaluate documentation for accuracy and completenessConduct various types of searchesWork independently with minimal supervision, make sound decisionsAdhere to and enforce ADCRR’s policies and proceduresProvide clear and concise instructions to inmate workersSafely transport inmates between the facility and work locationSelective Preference(s)Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsementTwo (2) years of experience as a Correctional Officer, or professional experience in correctional services or the criminal justice field. Candidates who have been separated from State Service for more than two (2) years will require successful completion of a training curriculum upon their assignment to the positionPre-Employment RequirementsEmployment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test.Requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement within 90 days in the event there is a rotation and / or operational need that requires transporting inmates.Candidates who have been separated from State Service for more than two (2) years will require successful completion of a training curriculum upon their assignment to the position.If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training.
