Datacenter Technician

Location: Open positions for Turin (Rivoli) and/or Milan (Siziano) – on-siteLevel: Mid, Senior. Strong juniors may be considered.Oracle Data Centre TechnicianAn Oracle Data Centre Technician will be the technical liaison between the technology teams and the Data Centre Environment. You can troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues, understand which issues to escalate to the appropriate resolver groups, create and maintain documentation on the technologies you support, understand all aspects of the equipment you support, and innovate and make decisions independently while taking direction when necessary. You can execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects.This position involves on‑shift rotation including standby; a valid driving license and the ability to transport by own car are required.RequirementsBachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experienceExperience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid‑sized environment (200–1000+ servers)Experience with data centre M&E equipmentDemonstrated examples of a drive to dig into the details of a system or process to solve customer problemsExperience working in a mission‑critical operations environmentPhysical ability to lift up to 25 kg; may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locationsAbility to speak confidently and communicate clearly in a virtual environmentStrong adherence to process and being a process championExcellent communication skills (oral & written), and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers and staffExperience providing client‑facing, direct customer support and serviceAbility to work productively in remote cross‑functional teams or independently as an individualRequired Data Centre ExperienceKnowledge of data centre design, including electrical and cooling plant and operation thereofRack setup, and commissioning of new racksStrong structured cabling skills on fiber & copper (e.g., loom, term & test)Required Systems & Hardware ExpertiseSystems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers)Hardware repair, diagnosis & break/fixNetworking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, basic troubleshooting)IT hardware concepts (RAID, SAN, x86 architecture, SCSI, FC, ethernet, iLO)Base OS installation and configurationCore OS services: SSH, Telnet, RDP, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, etc.ResponsibilitiesAct as data centre SME liaison to other technical and non‑technical teams (e.g., networking, computing, compliance, business operations)Understand internal customer problems and provide technical solutions in a timely mannerParticipate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware and softwareSystem board‑level repair and fault diagnosis to meet SLAsPlan and commission new rack positionsInvolved with the design and commissioning of new white spacesStructured cabling installation is a significant part of this positionTrained and adhere to governmental and company‑set health and safety processesAdditional on‑premise work at customer locations may be requiredAvailable to travel within EMEASeniority levelMid‑Senior levelEmployment typeFull‑timeJob functionSoftware Development#J-18808-Ljbffr
