The Purpose of the role:

The Senior Category Manager at AB InBev holds a senior-level role, responsible for overseeing the category management function in Italy. In this position, you will report directly to the Head of Category Management and manage one direct report.

The purpose of the role is to drive growth and profitability by developing and executing effective category strategies. This involves understanding consumer needs, market trends, and competitor activities to develop actionable insights and recommendations.

The role:

Category strategy

  • Develop and regularly renew category vision for each market.
  • Derive actionable retailer advice from the vision that is aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Lead category management conversations with key customers in Italy.

Team Management

  • Manage one Junior Category Manager to ensure the effective execution of category plans.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration among relevant Sales, Marketing, and Supply teams to achieve alignment with category objectives.

Market analysis

  • Analyze market data and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and portfolio gaps across brands & formats.
  • Monitor and evaluate category performance and market share development, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in category management.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in FMCG category management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Italian FMCG or beverage market and retail landscape.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English and Italian.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of driving business results through effective category strategies.
