The Alibaba Group is looking for a Senior Category Manager/Category Manager, based in Milano, for one of the world largest e-commerce marketplaces.Location:Milan, ItalyJob Description:1. Category Business Planning:o Develop and implement category strategies for Electronics, General Merchandise, Fashion, and FMCG in the Italian e-commerce market.o Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer needs to drive business growth and achieve GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) and order targets.o Plan and execute category-specific business initiatives to ensure platform competitiveness and growth.2. Merchant Acquisition and Management:o Lead merchant acquisition efforts, identifying and recruiting top sellers and brands across target categories.o Build and manage relationships with key merchants to support their growth on the platform.o Design and execute operational plans for merchant performance optimization, ensuring seller satisfaction and business success.3. Operational Excellence:o Develop strategies to enhance category performance, including seller operations, assortment planning, and sales campaigns.o Work closely with cross-functional teams (traffic, logistics, tech, and customer service) to solve operational challenges and deliver projects effectively.o Monitor key performance metrics and provide actionable insights to improve GMV and operational efficiency.4. Project Management:o Lead category-related projects, ensuring timely coordination and execution with internal and external stakeholders.o Oversee project timelines, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to meet business goals.Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree or above, with 3-8 years of work experience in e-commerce, category management, or related fields.Proven experience in business negotiation, seller acquisition, product planning, and channel/merchant management.Background in consulting or industries such as Electronics, General Merchandise, Fashion, or FMCG is preferred.Strong analytical skills with experience in data processing and deriving actionable insights.Excellent communication skills in English and Italian ; 6. Results-driven, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.7. Strong teamwork spirit with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.Core KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):1. Merchant Acquisition:Number of recruited sellers/brands per category.2. GMV Growth:Achievement of Gross Merchandise Value targets for assigned categories.3.
