# 152218 - Roma, Lazio, ItalyJob SummaryThe Hill’s Sales Manager (SM) is responsible to grow Hill’s business (sales, distribution, market share and Brand Recommended Most Often "BRMO") in the assigned territory of Lazio.  The Sales Manager manages the customers, both veterinary clinics and specialty pet retail stores, in the assigned territory and ensures Hill’s is the strategic partner of choice for these customers and gain support to grow Hill’s business.What you will do:Product KnowledgeDevelop and maintain high standards of knowledge in small animal nutrition, Hill’s and competitors’ products through company training and self-studyTerritory ManagementAchieve territory sales targets managing orders' collection through effective visits with customers and handling efficiently all the commercial/financial aspects and engaging all the internal stakeholdersReview potential of accounts (Pet & Vet Customers)  within the territory (every year)Promptly identify new accounts (Pet & VetCustomers) and secure strong presence and endorsement for Hill’s brandsMaintain accurate records in the Hill’s reporting systemLeverage all Company available tools to drive execution (Product Distribution, Detailing material, Staff Feeding, Sampling, Trial, etc.)Clinic / Store Business DevelopmentDevelop deep knowledge of the customers’ business and organization; build a network with key decision makers / key influencers in the vet practice and specialty pet store in the assigned territoryDevelop the business of the assigned area also by providing best in class professional support (detailing, in-clinic/store seminars, technical training, merchandising), reaching all key stakeholders in specified practices and stores, collaborating with the Pet Vet Affairs (PVA) team ensuring an effective planning and active participation during the activitiesIdentify opportunities in the assigned customer base and develop technical and business propositions that meet the needs of both Hill’s and the customer, resulting in BRMO leadershipManage multi store customers and some specific needs Implement commercial activities to ensure:Awareness, full distribution and active endorsement by the veterinary profession of Hill’s productsFull distribution, excellent visibility and active endorsement of Hill’s products by the store staffRapid acceptance, endorsement and distribution of new productsEstablishment of shelf space and adequate inventory within each storeBusiness & Financial ManagementMonitor achievement of territory objectives vs target & develops strategies to address changes in the business environment as appropriateMeetings & ConferencesRepresent Hill’s at meetings/conferences e.g. Trade shows,  Local and National meetings, Client Meetings, Clinic/Store Special eventsEducation/ Experience RequiredMaster's degree in Veterinary or Economics, Animal Science or equivalent would be considered a plusPrevious business experience required minimum at least  2/3  yrs (nutrition company, veterinary industry or pharmaceutical company)Additional competencies/skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)Strong selling skills. Ability to persuade, negotiate and finalize agreementsCustomer orientation/Problem solving attitudeExcellent skills in time management, planning/priority setting, and managing budgetsProficient computer skills and ability to learn company specific tools & programsFluent in Italian and good English are key requirementsValid driver’s license required Working Relationships (Key partnerships and reporting relationships)Reports to Field Sales Manager (the role doesn't have direct reports)Works closely with Commercial Teams including Marketing and Professional Veterinary AffairsVISA NOT SPONSOREDThe candidate should be based in the province of Rome.Equal Opportunity Employer
