Green Financial Project Manager

Green Financial Project Manager RINA is recruiting for a Green Financial Project Manager to join its office in Genoa, Rome or Rozzano within the ESG and Sustainability Project Management Division. Mission The ESG and Sustainable Credit Lines Management Unit of RINA is seeking a highly motivated person to support the team in the management and development of climate finance and gender empowerment international programmes launched by International Financing Institutions (IFIs). The successful candidate will have passion in the energy transition, digital transformation and green economy sectors, good communication skills and a strong teamwork attitude. The Project Manager will be accountable for executing and leading projects, ensuring deliverables are completed within the defined deadlines, scope, and budget. The role involves balancing project demands with available resources and collaborating closely with clients and internal teams to achieve project success. Key Accountabilities Project Management: Develop a comprehensive project plan that outlines scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals. Adjust project plans as needed to address changes in scope, timeline, or resources, and communicate updates to stakeholders. Identify and develop new project opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals and cost estimates. Contract Management: Ensure all project activities comply with the terms and conditions of the client contract, tracking any amendments. Identify contract risks and communicate with legal or procurement teams as needed for support. Document any contract changes and obtain client approvals for modifications. Client Interaction: Act as the main point of contact for the client, providing regular status updates and addressing inquiries or concerns. Facilitate client meetings to discuss project progress, gather feedback, and ensure client satisfaction. Build a strong relationship with the client, anticipating needs and providing proactive support. Team Management: Coordinate multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, manage relationships with stakeholders and ensure the successful delivery of technical assistance, capacity building, and investment support. Support in the organization and participate in promotional events, training workshops, and Steering Committee meetings related to the assigned Programme. Foster collaboration within the project team, encouraging open communication and teamwork. Budget Management: Develop the project budget and track actual spending against the forecasted budget. Identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement adjustments to stay within financial constraints. Prepare budget variance reports and update stakeholders on budget status and adjustments. Risk Management: Develop a risk management plan that identifies potential project risks and outlines mitigation strategies. Monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle, updating the risk log as needed. Engage with stakeholders to implement mitigation plans when risks become significant. Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control procedures to ensure all deliverables meet client and company standards. Review project outputs for compliance with specifications and address deviations. Conduct post‑project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for future improvement. Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation for the entire project lifecycle, including meeting minutes, reports, and project records. Ensure regular communication with both internal and external stakeholders, providing transparency on project progress. Develop final project reports, summarizing outcomes, successes, and challenges. Education Master’s Degree in Engineering General or Economics Qualifications +3 years of experience in an engineering or technical role within a project setting, ideally with exposure to cross‑functional teamwork. Alternatively 1–3 years of experience in an associate project management role. Professional project management certifications are desirable (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or similar). A certification in Agile (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster) can also be beneficial. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work under tight deadlines. Ability to write well structured, concise and well‑reasoned reports, proposals and documents. Proficiency in project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.) Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Knowledge of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning. Excellent communication skills in Italian and English both oral and written, second language will be considered as a plus. Experience working with financial institutions and/or SMEs will be considered as a plus. Familiarity with contracts, client management, and vendor relations.
