Software Application Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a Software Application Engineer to join its office in Turin within the Aerospace & Defence Division.MissionThe Software Application Engineer focuses on designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications that align with our business needs. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, UX / UI designers, and software developers, to deliver high‑quality solutions to our customers. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development and a passion for building scalable, maintainable, and efficient applications.Key AccountabilitiesSoftware Development :Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure software applications.Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code adhering to software development best practices.Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and implementation plans.Testing and Deployment :Write automated tests to ensure the quality of applications and enhance test coverage.Debug the implemented application software.Support the V&V team during testing and validation activities for defect analysis.Analyze and solve detected problems implementing the needed corrections.Documentation :Document sw requirements, design decisions, APIs, and implementation details.Maintain technical documentation and diagrams related to the software applications.Support and Maintenance :Technical support to customers and internal teams as needed.Debug and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.Continuous Improvement :Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.Identify and propose improvements to existing software applications and development processes.Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.Collaboration and Communication :Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software applications.Communicate technical concepts and ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.#LI-FT1EducationBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information SystemsQualificationsGood experience as a Software Engineer or Software Application Engineer, with a track record of delivering high‑quality software applications.Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as C / C++, Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.Experience with desktop application development frameworks (e.g., MS Visual Studio, VS Code, Eclipse) and / or web application development frameworks (Spring, Django, React, Angular).Familiarity with Graphic User Interfaces design and related development frameworks (e.g. Qt, NI LabWindows / LabView).Knowledge of requirements management and design tools (e.g. UML‑based tools).Familiarity with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL databases).Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).Understanding of software engineering life cycle and development best practices, including Agile methodologies, CI / CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).CompetenciesADDRESS THE WAY - Have a big picture of different situations and reinterpret it in a perspective way.CLIENT INTIMACY - Embrace internal and external client needs, expectations, and requirements to ensure maximum satisfaction.BUILD NETWORK - Forge trust relationships, across departments, and outside the organization.EARN TRUST - Take everyone's opinion into account and remain open to diversity.MAKE EFFECTIVE DECISIONS - Structure activities according to priorities, actions, resources and constraint.MANAGE EMOTIONS - Recognise one's and other's emotions and express and regulate one's reactions.PIONEER CHANGE - Actively embrace change and benefit from the new circumstances.PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT - Promote commitment by keeping promises as a Role Model.THINK FORWARD - Capitalise on experiences and translate them into action plans for the future.RINA is a multinational company providing a wide range of services in the energy, marine, certification, infrastructure & mobility, industry, research & development sectors.
