Data Center Manager

Overview Job ID: | Amazon Data Services, Inc. This position involves leading teams in hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and includes participation in an on-call rotation. The role requires the ability to work independently and to manage teams effectively, with strong prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and quick reaction to operational demands. The team operates in a 24/7 data center environment, including a night shift that may be adjusted to meet operational needs. The candidate will create documentation, innovate solutions, participate in site-level project work, and fix complex problems within the Data Center space.Responsibilities Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operatorsManage the performance of a diverse team(s) of data center operation professionals across different locationsDevelop career paths for employees and update internal toolsRecruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levelsEnsure effective day-to-day data center operations including queue management, 7/24 shift arrangement and hardware logisticsBecome a subject matter expert across all aspects of data center operationsEnsure operational KPIs and metrics are measured and metDrive improvements in team processes, technology innovation, and automationManage large-scale events (outages) and act as the call leaderImprove workflows and throughput for data center operationsRecommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAsMaintain the on-call schedule, coordinating absences and vacationsMaintain passion for quality and quantity of services to continuously improve customer experienceA day in the life Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast-paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
