Responsibilities IP portfolio management: monitor, update, and maintain the company’s database of registered patents, trademarks, and designs. Filing and protection activities: support the drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent and trademark applications in collaboration with specialized consultants and law firms. Patent due diligence and analysis: conduct prior art searches, freedom‑to‑operate analyses, technology mapping, and IP benchmarking. IP contracting: contribute to the drafting and review of contractual clauses related to intellectual property (NDAs, license agreements, R&D agreements, technology transfer agreements, purchase agreements, etc.). IP litigation management: support the Legal Department in opposition procedures, litigation, and defense of IP rights. Economic and commercial evaluation: assess the IP portfolio (Cost Method, Income Method) to support Offset, Sales, M&A, JV, Patent Box initiatives. Regulatory and competitive monitoring: stay updated on international IP regulations and competitors’ patent activities. IP Risk Management: ensure the management of the IP risk process by identifying potential risks (e.g., IP loss risk) and evaluating their impact and probability through the definition and implementation of mitigation actions. Requirements Knowledge of national and international IP regulations (EPO, WIPO, USPTO). Familiarity with patent databases (Espacenet, PatBase, Derwent, etc.). Strong technical and legal drafting skills. 2–5 years of experience in similar roles within industrial companies, research centers, or patent and trademark consulting firms. Education Master’s degree in Engineering, Law, Economics and Business, Biotechnology, or other technical‑scientific disciplines. A master’s or specialized courses in Intellectual Property or Patent Management (e.g., WIPO, Politecnico di Milano, Luiss, etc.) are considered a plus.
