Position Details Job Title: RESEARCH ASSISTANT II Position Number: Job Category: University Staff Job Type: Full-Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Campus: Maywood-Health Sciences Campus Department: MICROBIOLOGY Location Code: MICROBIOLOGY (06220A) Responsibilities Supports research projects in the Wolfe lab by performing lab assays and analyses on clinical specimens for the purpose of understanding the urinary microbiome. Carries out experiments and procedures as instructed by the Principal Investigator (PI) or Lab manager, also assists PI, research staff, and students with lab procedures and projects. Works as part of a team to process patient samples collected regularly. Monitors inventory of lab supplies and orders additional supplies when required. Gathers, organizes, enters, and analyzes data; performs literature searches and retrieves literature. Maintains a safe and orderly lab environment. Ensures lab environment complies with safety regulations. Performs related duties as assigned. Must be flexible to work on weekends occasionally. > Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in related field and one to two years of related experience. Qualifications Masters or Bachelors Degree Certificates/Credentials/Licenses N/A Proficiency in Microsoft (Computer Skills). No supervisory responsibilities required. No operation of university owned vehicles required. Working Conditions Physical Demands: None.
