Role Summary The Customer Quality Engineer is the main Avio Aero Product Quality point of contact for an external Customer cluster; is responsible to drive the flowdown of Customer’s requirements through the Avio Aero organization, leveraging knowledge and understanding of the Customers contracts and requirements and comprehensive understanding of what drives impact for the Customers. In this role you will also operate as operational support to ensure Customer’s quality requirements are flowed down and understood within the CoEs. Essential responsibilities Review applicable Customer Quality requirements during the preliminary offer to Customer and ensure proper flow-down within all Avio Aero sites Join WOR/MOR program meetings, lead Program Quality KPIs to control industrialization of the program and escalate issues Collect PPAP deliverables as applicable Provide Quality Deliverables during the Phase/Gate NPI approach, attend to program Gate Participate in the design phase, review and approve preliminary drawing according to the CPD process Plan and lead approval of VT/SPS and QNs pending on the program in agreement with the internal and external team Analyze quality data to identify needs and opportunities for quality improvement and lead the implementation of improvement plans Together with Design and Manufacturing, establish a Manufacturing Process that meets design requirements at the start of production, with focus on producibility and design change. Escalate producibility issues to define proper manufacturing or design corrective action Interface with Customer, partner companies and company function in a proactive and timely manner to define and manage Program Quality risks Serve as the customer’s main point of contact for Quality escapes Robust Root Cause & Corrective Actions (RCCA) deployment Support Customer Visits/Meetings and periodic visits at Customer facilities if needed Knowledge and application of the Return to Vendor (RTV) process Communicate across the function in area of expertise Qualifications / Requirements Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Aerospace preferred) from an accredited university or college Previous experience in a similar role, preferred in an Aeronautical manufacturing company Background in Quality and/or Engineering and/or Program Management and/or manufacturing Ability to lead complex problems, escalations and problem solving Availability to travel internationally to meet customers/shops as needed Proficiency in Italian and English, both written and oral Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required Desired Characteristics Knowledge of GE quality system, including policies and procedures Knowledge of Aerospace Quality Standards GE IT quality tools (Score Applications) knowledge Know-how in APQP/AS13100 and LEAN principles and methods Knowledge of problem solving / improvement tools (e.g. Six Sigma, FLIGHT DECK, etc.) Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to communicate clearly with external Customers and internally in the Organization Strong influencing skills in a global environment Effective problem identification and solution skills Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Experience in a Customer facing role is preferred Experience in Operations or Engineering is preferred What We Offer Smart working and work life-balance Avio Aero, when possible, promotes smart work in hybrid mode, and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
