Offer Description

The development of a technology for reusing carbon fibres recovered from recycled SMC will be structured around the following activities:
- Technology selection: comparison of three solutions for reusing long recycled fibres (25-50 mm), assessing their technical feasibility, integration into the CPC plant, performance and added value of the resulting product.
- Optimisation: laboratory development and testing of the selected technology, with iterative trials to assess the process and material properties. The most promising prepregs will be transferred to CPC for industrial validation.
- Fibre blends: evaluation of semi-finished materials containing different proportions of recycled and virgin fibres through thermal and mechanical testing. The most promising materials will be validated by CPC.
- Reuse of short fibres: assessment of the feasibility of using lower-quality fibres in lower-value applications, such as sdary components or reinforcement for thermoplastics.
