Marine Floating Offshore Sector Senior SurveyorRINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Surveyor to join its office in Genoa, Naples, or Pescara, Italy within the Marine Special Ships Excellence Centre Division.MissionThe Senior Surveyor serves as an experienced and knowledgeable professional within the organization, applying expertise in maritime rules, regulations, and industry principles. The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.Key AccountabilitiesProfessional SpecialistActs as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of rules, regulations, and industry concepts.Keeps abreast of new developments and recommends changes to surveying processes and safety programs.Inspection and ReportingConducts routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements.Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys.Leadership and CoordinationPlans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work.Monitors the quality of service, providing guidance to less experienced surveyors.Client InteractionEngages with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise.Ensures client satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues.Training and DevelopmentProvides guidance and training to less experienced surveyors.Contributes to the development and improvement of the skills and knowledge of the surveying team.Quality AssuranceEnsures the maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed.Ethical ConductUpholds the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes.EducationMaster’s Degree in Naval EngineeringQualificationsMinimum 3 years’ experience working as a Surveyor or minimum 6 years’ experience in the engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society.Understanding of RINA strategic technical positioning in the sector of the marine industry.Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services and, before assignment, with their future work.Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy.Ability to understand engineering plans and have knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operation.Ability to perform either:New building surveys:Assess the suitability of certified materials and products supplied for the new building.Assess that hull, machinery and equipment have been built in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory inspections, tests and trials.Issue Certificates, Reports, Records and Status in compliance with rules and regulations.Ship in service surveys:Assess that hull, machinery and equipment have been maintained in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory overall inspections, tests and trials.Assess and follow up the repair works to hull, machinery and equipment to assign a new period of class and a new period of validity to statutory Certificates in compliance with rules and regulations by means of overall and close‑up inspections, verification upon dismantling, tests and trials (including surveys for Admission to Class of ships in service).Attend major conversion works according with rules and regulations.Identify the deficiencies to be rectified (if any) and assess whether immediate repair is necessary or a condition may be issued with an appropriate due date.Follow up as required by rules and regulations any repair work or due to previous outstanding conditions.Assess whether the deficiencies identified (if any) may be linked with potential failure of the Ship Management System.Endorse Certificates, issue Reports and Status in compliance with rules and regulations.Marine Management Systems audits.Testing activities and service suppliers/manufacturers certification:Assess the suitability of certified materials and products in compliance with applicable rules.Issue Certificates and prepare Reports and Status in compliance with procedures.Knowledge of ship engineering systems and machinery.Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.Knowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work.CompetenciesPromote Sustainable Development – Promote commitment by keeping promises as a Role Model.Manage Emotions – Recognise one's and other's emotions and express and regulate one's reactions.Pioneer Change – Actively embrace change and benefit from the new circumstances.Build Network – Forge trust relationships, across departments, and outside the organization.Make Effective Decisions – Structure activities according to priorities, actions, resources and constraints.Address the Way – Have a big picture of different situations and reinterpret it in a perspective way.Think Forward – Capitalise on experiences and translate them into action plans for the future.Client Intimacy – Embrace internal and external client needs, expectations, and requirements to ensure maximum satisfaction.Earn Trust – Take everyone's opinion into
