Business Development Representative Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems. Our platform, Ubuntu, powers enterprise initiatives in cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, IoT and more. We partner with Google, Amazon, IBM and Microsoft to help companies adopt new technologies faster. We’re looking for an organized, persistent, charismatic, hard‑working individual who is excited about technology and its business impact. The role collaborates with regional sales and marketing teams to identify and nurture customer projects that fit Canonical’s product lines. Key Responsibilities Execute outbound sales & marketing campaigns. Research prospective customers and market trends. Generate high‑quality leads for senior sellers to fuel a multi‑million‑dollar pipeline. Own and close SMB opportunities within your designated territory. Collaborate across teams and senior stakeholders to drive results. Help define processes and policies for the team. Travel to events and conferences worldwide to present on booths and drive face‑to‑face marketing and sales opportunities. Qualifications Demonstrated success in SDR or outbound sales, exceeding annual quotas. Experience navigating accounts to senior executive level to identify new opportunities. Experience in enterprise software or technology sales. Excellent academic record. Passion for business and technology. Commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Creative problem‑solving and cross‑team collaboration. Professional written and spoken English, excellent presentation skills. Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills. Result‑driven, over‑achiever mindset. Persistence and perseverance. Growth mindset; team members develop into other sales roles. Travel internationally twice a year for company events (~two weeks).
