Our scope of work includes systems, repairing, dealing with issues, handling and tracking parts and assisting in Data Center maintenance. Amazon Data Centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will help change the face of Technology in the region. Key Job Responsibilities Deploying and removing server racks, fixing various IT hardware and network components, and responding to emergent situations that affect operations. Managing the on‑site lifecycle of IT infrastructure hardware, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the data center infrastructure remains operational. Serving as the first‑line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues; meeting customer service level agreements by resolving problems. Performing on‑call duties and participating in data‑center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change‑management activities that require monitoring of the infrastructure. Participating in team meetings for metric analysis and achieving daily/weekly goals. Understanding and applying safety and security policies and procedures within the department. Contributing to documentation on technical issues through root‑cause analysis for operational issues and supporting process‑improvement initiatives relevant to the data‑center environment. Training less experienced team members, as appropriate. A Day in the Life Support Data Center infrastructure equipment (e.g. racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables, etc.). Follow ticket‑based instructions to perform systematic problem resolution and routine operation activities on hardware and spare parts, including installing and removing server racks and fixing server hardware. Perform on‑call duties and participate in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change‑management activities that require monitoring of the infrastructure. Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving. Maintain tidiness in operation areas and participate in site management. Work in a rotating shift with a team of other engineers. Standard shift hours are 10 hours with a one‑hour break; 4 days work per week and 3 days off. Standard working hours are 8:00‑18:00, 12:00‑22:00, 21:45‑08:15. Basic Qualifications Experience with ticketing systems, escalation procedures, and data center facilities. Knowledge and understanding of maintenance windows and change management. English and Japanese communication skills. Linux/networking certifications (RHCSA, CCNA, or equivalent) and scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.). BA/BS in technical field or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with problem‑management ticket tracking, escalation procedures, and hands‑on data center experience. Knowledge of maintenance windows and change management. English & Japanese communication skills. Linux/networking certifications (RHCSA, CCNA, or equivalent) and scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.). Technical degree or equivalent practical experience.
