Product Manager Laboratory Equipment (LE) Join to apply for the Product Manager Laboratory Equipment (LE) role at Velp Scientific Position Overview: We are looking for a new Product Manager, who will be completely focused on our Laboratory Equipment line. Having a dedicated Product Manager for this important part of our business will allow us to consolidate on market and competitive intelligence at one place and ultimately drive growth more aggressively. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Product Manager Element Analyzer, with the aim to build a solid and strategic PM Team. What We Are Looking For Technology savvy: understand and interact with customers and their workflows, especially in the life science area. Business Acumen: investment in new products goes along with return‑on‑investment considerations. Flair for Marketing: partner with the marketing team to develop the value proposition. Analytical Capabilities: extract data from market reports, add VoC, compile all market intelligence and draw the right conclusions. Analytical approach: business proposals backed up by solid VoC and thorough financial considerations. Presentation: able to sell the product to sales, talk to key accounts, and present at webinars. Communication: convince the organization based on solid work, generate followership. Scope and Responsibilities The Product Manager plays a key role in the innovation process: Lead the definition phase: collect market intelligence, collect VoC and develop together with R&D a solid business plan for new product ideas. In the development phase, act as counterpart for R&D, organize beta‑test, ensure cost targets are met and specifications are not compromised. Lead in the launch phase: develop the launch plan with marketing, create training material and deliver training to sales; together with Operations ensure product availability. In the retirement phase, eliminate products when new successors are launched. Other Responsibilities Monitor global sales by territory and identify areas of under‑penetration or improvement; propose solutions to sales and support execution. Support sales in training events. Maintain a personal network of researchers using LEs which can inspire new product ideas. Maintain a personal network of key accounts in close collaboration with sales. Support Marketing with content generation and collecting competitive information. Contribute to the annual strategy development process and indicate long‑term opportunities for the Laboratory Equipment product range. Required Experience and Education Important attributes and qualifications for this role include: Ideally, the candidate has both a technical/scientific background and a business background. Technical/Scientific: minimum bachelor’s degree preferably in biochemistry, biology, microbiology or cell biology. Business: MBA or practical experience in previous jobs with commercial responsibilities. Worked 3‑5 years in a similar industry, focused on laboratory equipment. Understands and is experienced with the business model of selling products globally through dealers. Experience as Product Manager (or Product Specialist) is a big plus. Adjacent roles who interacted with Product Management (R&D, Sales, Marketing) are also considered.
