A Milan-headquartered offshore energy contractor, part of a Fortune 500 multinational group, is hiring a Senior Project Manager to take ownership of a major work package within a flagship offshore project.

Alias Executive Search & Consulting, an Italian executive search firm with an international network across EMEA, LATAM and North America, has been retained to manage this search on a confidential basis.

The company

Our client delivers complex offshore and onshore energy projects on an EPC/EPCIC basis, with operations across multiple countries.

The company is currently:

  • executing a major offshore mega-project as consortium leader for an Energy Major;
  • strengthening its international project delivery capabilities;
  • expanding beyond traditional upstream activities into midstream and carbon capture.

The organisation operates with a deliberately leaner structure than a traditional EPC contractor.

The role

Reporting directly to the Director of Projects, the Senior Project Manager will assume full accountability for assigned EPC/EPCIC work packages, from contract award through:

  • Procurement;
  • Construction;
  • Handover.

The role combines project delivery, commercial responsibility, client management and multidisciplinary leadership.

Organisation & leadership

You will have the authority to shape your own project organisation, defining the appropriate structure and resources across functions including:

You will act as the primary management representative towards:

  • the Client;
  • consortium and joint-venture partners;
  • contractors and subcontractors;
  • regulatory and relevant external authorities.

The role requires the ability to manage complex stakeholder environments while maintaining a strong focus on project objectives and contractual commitments.

The Senior Project Manager will own the commercial performance of the assigned work package, including:

  • contract administration;
  • variations and change orders;
  • claims and contractual negotiations;
  • cost performance;
  • forecasting;
  • cash flow;
  • project profitability.

You will work closely with the Director of Projects and Finance function to ensure alignment between operational delivery and financial performance.

You will set the standard for:

  • Health, Safety and Environment;
  • process safety;
  • offshore safety requirements;
  • quality performance;
  • compliance throughout all project activities.

You will ensure that HSE and quality considerations remain embedded in every major project decision.

Executive reporting

You will provide clear and concise reporting on:

  • overall project status;
  • schedule and cost performance;
  • commercial exposure;
  • key risks and opportunities;

Reporting will be directed to the Project Director and executive management, giving the role significant organisational visibility.

What you bring

The ideal candidate will have:
